Matteo is hand-carved from solid Mediterranean olive wood, giving each piece its own natural variation in tone, pattern, and character. Two separate compartments keep favorite seasonings close at hand, while the smooth swivel lid opens easily for a pinch of flaky sea salt, cracked pepper, dried herbs, or whatever happens to live beside the stove.

Compact enough for the kitchen counter and handsome enough for the table, Matteo brings a little Mediterranean warmth to everyday cooking.

Care

Hand wash with mild soap and warm water. Do not soak. Periodically condition with a food-safe mineral oil to help preserve the richness of the olive wood.

The Brindle Edit:  Keep Matteo within reach of the stove with flaky sea salt on one side and cracked pepper on the other, or bring it straight to the table filled with finishing salts and favorite seasoning blends. We especially love it styled alongside warm ceramics, linen napkins, and other olive wood pieces for an easy, collected Mediterranean table.

Because Matteo is carved from natural wood, every piece carries its own markings and tonal variations — the kind of subtle differences that make handcrafted materials feel personal rather than perfect.

Brindle Note:  Matteo may be small, but he earns his place on the counter. Use both compartments for seasonings, or let one side hold salt while the other becomes home to crushed herbs, chili flakes, or a favorite spice blend. The grain will vary from piece to piece — exactly as it should.
